Jordan’s yummy second book in the Night series is a mix of suspense and sexual tension. It pulls readers into another world of uninhibited and gorgeous vampires, werewolves, elves, fae and “normals.” Readers will need to get past the ton of backstory that slows down the story’s start.
Despite a lifetime that has spanned centuries, elf Selina Grayson cannot forget the death of her cousin at the hands — and fangs — of a serial killer. When a similar killing occurs, she is partnered on the investigation with Jack Laramie, one of the rare humans who knows about the magickal world. Neither can deny the blazing-hot attraction that quickly lands them in bed. What starts out as a fling for Jack deepens despite Selina’s distance and her insistence that no one know about their relationship. Their undeniable connection may just saves her from death if she can accept Jack’s love. (APHRODISIA, Mar., 304 pp., $14.00)
