While the initial impression is that this is yet another Fifty Shades copycat, a closer look reveals a compelling novel with deep, complex characters and steamy scenes. Although Hannah’s Internet naiveté seems a bit outdated for 2014, everything else about the book will leave you craving the sequel. Very spicy sex scenes included within: Consider yourself warned!

Bestselling author and moody recluse Matt Sky has everything: a gorgeous apartment, fancy cars and a beautiful girlfriend. But when writer’s block strikes, he goes online looking for a creative writing partner. That’s when he meets Hannah. As their novel takes off, so does their bizarre connection. Then happenstance brings them to the same city. Their online chemistry is nothing compared to the blaze that ignites when they meet in person. But Matt’s keeping big secrets. As their relationship continues to progress, Hannah falls head over heels for the secretive stud, but Matt is torn. Can he ever hope to untangle the lies he’s told Hannah and salvage the relationship that’s suddenly become his obsession? Or will their fiery chemistry go up in flames — and take both of them with it? (ST. MARTIN’S GRIFFIN, Jun., 256 pp., $14.99, ISBN: 9781250058232, PB, 18 & Up)
