Charlotte, NC antique store owner Abigail Timberlake is throwing a little costume soiree. The wild evening, which includes her dotty mother showing up as Lady Godiva, ends on an unusual note when the Statue of Libertys lit torch drops and starts a fire.

While clearing out the mess, Abigail discovers that someones left a suit of armor in her houseand inside the armor is the body of Tweetie Timberlake, bimbo wife of Abigails ex, Buford. Now, Abigail thoroughly despised Tweetie but didnt wish her dead. Besides, Tweetie came to the party as Little Bo Peep, not a knight.

Naturally, Abigail finds herself involved in the investigation. An experienced sleuth, with plenty of help from her oddball friends, she sets out to discover the killers identity, only to find her own life on the line.

Sly humor and charm highlight this wacky tale of mayhem and murder. Abigail and Co. always make for a laugh out loud adventure as they solve crime, Southern style. (Aug., 288 pp., $6.50)
