The fact that the heroine makes a strange choice at the beginning of the story does not detract from this quirky, futuristic love story. The sex comes fast and heavy from the first page and this is just a fun, enjoyable read, if not taken too seriously.
After she loses her job, Gen’s roommate gifts her with a date with a male prostitute to cheer her up. Illustra is run by an old acquaintance and after her date, Gen is offered a job as a “secret shopper,” testing out the men from Illustra. The murkiest part of the narrative centers around an empath named Rhys. His body is held prisoner and he’s trying to save his people and Earth, from an invasion. She’s given three escorts but two of them only have eyes for each other. The third man, Marshall, is one of the enemies Rhys is fighting. He takes over Marshall’s body and the adventure is on.
