NO MATTER WHAT
NO MATTER WHAT (4) by Janice Kay Johnson: When high school vice principal Molly Callahan meets student Trevor Ward’s father, Richard, she’s initially accusatory over his part in his son’s fighting and bad attitude in school — especially since Trevor is dating her daughter, Caitlyn. But when she learns he’s only just gotten custody of Trevor after the boy had problems living with his mother, she’s determined to help him with the teen — until Trevor gets Caitlyn pregnant. Both Molly and Richard are well-rounded characters; Molly’s worry over her daughter is very realistic, as is Richard’s over his son. The resolution to the pregnancy problem is a bit unusual, but it doesn’t take away from Johnson’s great writing.
