NO MORE GOOD
Genre: Mainstream, Multicultural
This story has more backstabbing than a soap opera. While the writing is good, the Chase brood is extremely dysfunctional, and it's hard to root for anyone in this family. Maybe Leigh Chase, the good doctor, will succeed in this out-of-control family.
Steven and Janet Chase are in total control of their family. They will destroy anyone who threatens or tries to harm them. Carter and Avery were engaged to be married, but after she catches him in a series of lies, she runs away and takes a secret with her. Michael and Kimberly are struggling, trying to save their marriage after Kimberly attempted to destroy her mother-in-law.
Leigh is trying to get on with her life after the death of her lover, and youngest daughter Haley continues to self-destruct. The newest family member is Connor, Carter and Avery's daughter. She may be the salvation of this family. Stay tuned! (Dafina, Aug., 275 pp., $14.00)
