RT Rating

Sizzling sex and high-stakes adventure are on tap in megatalented Cole's sensational new paranormal release. Talk about a highly unusual courtship: These two protagonists are soon facing off in love and on a deadly scavenger hunt. Both the passion and danger quotients are cranked up high, making this book one nonstop thrill ride. Brava!

Lack of emotion has been one of Valkyrie Kaderin's biggest advantages in her ongoing war with the vampires. Kaderin has also been the winner of the past few "Hie," a no-holds-barred paranormal competition.
All Kaderin's careful planning goes haywire, however, when she meets vampire Sebastian Wroth, suddenly feels emotion and then finds herself unable to kill him.

It appears that Kaderin is Sebastian's destined "bride," and he is determined to woo her despite their enmity.

After centuries of loneliness and despair, Sebastian finally has something to live for, so he's not about to let Kaderin get away -- even if it means competing in the Hie along with her. But a competition designed to have the competitors at each other's throats may not be the best place to try to win a bride.
