Though her first husband, Richard, committed suicide, Keely Weaver and her son Dylan have gotten their lives back to a semblance of normalcy. Now five years after Richard's death, she's happily married to Mark Weaver and they have a daughter, Abby. While 14-year-old Dylan resents his stepfather, his rebelliousness hasn't gone further than a shaved head and typically deplorable teenage boy's taste in clothes.

But Keely's peaceful life is shattered when she returns from the mall to find that Mark drowned while saving the toddling Abby. Worst of all, the police suspect Dylan of Mark's death, and possibly Richard's as well. Determined to clear her son, Keely investigates Mark's past to find the truth.

The twists and turns are never ending in this gripping, suspenseful tale. The unraveling of Mark Weaver's life is equally paced with the discovery of his murderer. A page-turner to the very end—you won't want to miss it. (Now available, 357 pp., $24.00)
