Book Review

by Jacquelyn Mitchard

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Young Adult

RT Rating

In her YA debut, Mitchard unveils Hope's story in journal style, which lessens the drama by telling instead of showing. There's a slow start and an unlikable main character, but there are worthwhile surprises toward the end.

Hope is an amazing young actor destined to become a huge star -- or so she tells us. Accepted into a prestigious acting academy, she falls for Logan. A plan is hatched and Hope is found bound in a cabin, apparently abducted. But will she be able to keep up the act once the truth begins to unfold?
