Laila Riley has paid an enormous price for her relationship with Matthew O’Brien, a younger man and a notorious flirt. She has lost her parents’ respect and her job at her father’s bank. In the end she broke up with Matthew, determined to move on. Matthew was ready to settle down with Laila but is respecting her wishes and staying away while working on getting over her. But Matthew’s meddling family has other ideas and when she is tricked into spending Christmas in Ireland with his family, they pull out all the stops to make these two see they are meant for each other. Of course, the family is counting on a little Christmas magic for help. (MIRA, Oct., 268 pp., $16.95)
