Book Review

OKLAHOMA BRIDE
by Carol Finch

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: 1880s, Oklahoma

RT Rating

Finch takes the lawman-and-the-lady premise to another level with this poignant romance, about a man determined to keep a land run organized and a hellion bent on breaking the rules.

Rafe and Karissa meet when he's rousting 'sooners' out of the territory and she's trying to secure land before the official start of the rush. Rafe has her incarcerated in his room at the fort for her protection—but it's no protection against falling in love.

Kindhearted Rafe sees to it that Karissa claims the land she desires, but that's when the trouble begins and the adventures take off at Finch's usual breakneck speed. Rafe's fiancée's unexpected arrival and a land-grabbing villain conspire to destroy Rafe and Karissa's happiness. This is a well-paced, action-filled western with engaging characters and smoldering sexual tension. SENSUAL (Dec., 350 pp., $5.50)
