This is a nice addition to vampire lore, but there's nothing really new. A bit light on romance, it includes a good mystery and some interesting characters.

When advertising executive Angie McCaffrey's boss goes missing, she winds up in charge of the Macabre Factor make-up account and is initiated into the world of fake vampires. When her boss turns up murdered by what appears to be a vampire, suspicion falls on her clients, the San Francisco vampire clubs and the man Angie met at one of the venues, Eric Taylor. As Angie becomes involved with Eric, she learns there may be more reality in the vampire lore than she cares to believe. Now she must decide if she can trust Eric. (ZEBRA, Dec., 352 pp., $4.99)
