ONCE A COP (3) by Lisa Childs: Police officer Robbie Meyers has nothing in common with youth minister Holden Thomas, but she can't help the sparks that fly when they're together. Robbie's life has been nothing but her career and her daughter for a long time, and she doesn't have time for a man who doesn't approve of the danger inherent in working vice. Holden runs a homeless shelter for troubled teens while raising his late sister's daughter, and now the woman he's determined to avoid is the mother of his niece's new best friend. Although he falls hard for Robbie, Holden promised his sister that he would provide her daughter with a stable home life. Childs has a great story, but the chemistry between the characters is uneven and falls flat at times.
