ONCE UPON A HOLIDAY
by Beverly Jenkins, Adrianne Byrd, Kimberly Kaye Terry

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Multicultural
Sensuality: HOT

RT Rating

Guaranteed to brighten up anyone’s holiday, this spicy collection does not skimp on personalities or heat. Light those Yule logs and snuggle up for an evening of great reading.

“Holiday Heat” by Jenkins literally brings the heat as arson investigator Leyton and ATF agent Eve work together on a Detroit fire. But first they meet at a masquerade ball where couples hook up with no strings attached.

“Candy Christmas” by Byrd is the steamiest entry with co-workers Candace and Montel competing for the same VP position — when they’re not going at it hot and heavy, even at the office.

Terry’s “Chocolate Truffles” mixes African-American and Jewish holiday traditions seamlessly. After she gets a promotion, Camille is ready to celebrate. Later she’s shocked to find that the guy she celebrated with is the owner of the company training her for her new position. (KIMANI/ARABESQUE, Oct., 304 pp., $6.99)

Once Upon a Holiday

Pheromones rage and animal magnetism at its height describe the couples in the stories.

What make the stories outstanding is the maturing of these feelings into love and caring.
