by Sherri Browning

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: England, 1812

Miss Amelia Benedict had no wish to wed. She had enough money and no need for a husband, until the night her carriage is waylaid by a highwayman who steals her precious ring and a searing kiss. This mysterious brigand accomplished what no man had before: he awakened Amelias passion, making her think perhaps she might desire marriage after all.

Dylan Marlow is down on his luck; he needs money and is desperate enough to pose as a highwayman and even marry a wealthy bride to restore his family fortune. He just never expects that stealing Amelias ring would complicate his plans.

A second meeting with the highwayman fuels Amelias fantasies of love and compels her to seriously consider marrying. But Dylan has made up his mind to pursue the lady himself. He soon discovers she is far more enamored of his alter ego than she is of him. How does a man go about beating himself to win the game of love?

Theres a great deal of fun and fancy in this Regency romp. With a nice hand for humor, Sherri Browning crafts delightful stories that give readers a quick, fast-paced, highly enjoyable read while capturing the atmosphere of the era. ONCE WICKED is a bit of froth with several twists and turns that make Ms. Brownings second romance a fun read. SENSUAL (Jul., 350 pp., $5.99)
