ONE FINAL STEP
ONE FINAL STEP (4.5) by Stephanie Doyle: When image consultant Madeleine Kane agrees to work with Michael Langdon to reform his playboy image so he can partner up with another car manufacturer and bring his environmentally friendly car to the masses, it’s the first real job she has taken since she was caught in the act with the married president of the United States — which made her a pariah. Madeleine helps Michael deal with anguish over an incident that happened when he was a teen in prison, and Michael forces Madeleine to face the world again. This is a wonderfully written story about healing. Doyle’s characters have depth, and she doesn’t gloss over the gritty realities.
