RT Rating

This delightful story is full of interesting and likable characters. The protagonists' struggles coming to terms with their feelings and the involvement of the teenagers in their lives gives Kirk's novel a wonderful, home-style romantic feel.

Determined to have a one-night stand after her friend's wedding, happily single Marcee snags the delectable Sam. A widower and a father, Sam is a hard sell, but Marcee convinces him that this
is what she wants, deserves and needs.

After going their separate ways, Sam discovers himself longing for more with Marcee, a second chance to develop a relationship. He may get just that when Marcee moves in next door to him. But returning to her small hometown, where gossip abounds and privacy is hard to find, makes the road to romance full of potholes. (Avon, May, 352 pp., $6.99)
