ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG
Only the Good Die Young is one fantastic series starter. Green is known for writing atypical vampire mysteries, and now we have ghost investigator Jensen Murphy to enjoy. Sure, she may be a ghost, but she is also a spirited (pun intended) character who shows a lot of courage and spunk in the face of her predicament. The mystery is complex enough to keep the pages turning faster and faster.
Some people think that ghosts are made from trapped energy after a traumatic death, and Jensen Murphy knows it to be the truth. Thirty years ago, she was murdered and was doomed to relive her death over and over until psychic medium Amanda Lee Minter pulled her out of the loop and back into the world with everyone else. Now that she’s a free ghost, Jensen has the advantage when it comes to solving a murder. One day, maybe, she’ll solve her own. (ROC, Feb., 416 pp., $7.99)
