Book Review

ONLY YOU
by Deborah Bedford

Genre: Inspirational, Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

Bedford's latest is a sweet love story with some interesting turns of events. Emily's career change and journey to understanding about family and faith is meaningful, but the plot is rather predictable. Overall, though, it's a pleasant novel.

Emily Lattrell is a spitfire when it comes to her job as a copywriter. Yet she longs for something more in her life, and when she meets Philip Manning, she thinks he might be it. Philip introduces her to his brother and his children, who have been barely managing on their own since their wife and mother has been in a coma.

Emily quits her job and goes to work with Absolutely Moms, getting placed with Philip's brother's family as a temporary "mom." As Philip and Emily grow closer, they realize that they both have past hurts and disappointments that they must overcome before pursuing a relationship. (STEEPLE HILL, Aug., 336 pp., $6.99)
