THE OTHER SOLDIER
THE OTHER SOLDIER (4) by Kathy Altman: Parker Dean’s husband was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan. When the soldier responsible shows up on her doorstep needing to do something in order to forgive himself, Parker puts Reid Macfarland to work in her greenhouse. Parker is desperate for help to make her greenhouse business a success for herself and her young daughter, Natalie. Altman does a nice job depicting her character’s interactions and emotions, including Reid’s guilt and Parker’s forgiveness. Quirky secondary characters also add depth to the storyline.
