Kelly McGovern's brother Andrew is dead and she can't wait for answers from the police. A Texas blueblood, Kelly has suspicions about Andrew's impoverished fiancée's family. Andrew's friend, bar owner Wade Lansing, joins her and they soon get into danger. Susan Kearney delivers a hero who's a great tease, which generates some fun moments between the leads. The heroine in Out for Justice (3), however, comes across as invariably annoyed or patronizing, and despite the hero's love-goggle-hued observations, it's never clear what he sees in her.
