When one of her stories is shown to be false, D.C. investigative reporter Laurel Stewart wonders who set her up. In the fallout, Laurel is put on suspension and suspected of stealing a document from the Vice President's office. But her problems take a backseat after her roommate, White House staffer Chloe Hollister, disappears while heading to a fundraising trip in South Carolina.

Homicide lieutenant Joe Gannon has either a suicide or a murder on his hands when an unidentified woman falls from the 10th story of the Wingate Palace. Laurel roars into town demanding that the police investigate Chloe's disappearance and Joe wonders if his mystery woman is the missing Chloe.

The final chapter in the Stewart Sisters saga has all the passion, drama and intrigue a reader could ask for. Ross is a name to remember for stellar romantic suspense. (Nov., 384 pp., $7.50)
