THE OUTLAWS: RAFE

Author(s):

Why Sister Angela Abbot saves Rafe Gentry from the hangmans noose is something she isnt about to question. She claims Rafe as her fianci, and then Reverend Conrad marries them. That part wasnt in her plans, nor was it in Rafes plans to marry until he clears his name.

Angela tells him of her plan to reach Canon City to claim her inheritance, a share of a mine, and that she is escaping her stepfather and the man he wants her to marry.

Rafe leaves Angela and heads for Pueblo, where he overhears two men plotting how they are going to meet Angela in Canon City. Rafe cant allow his Angel to be taken in by these two, so he goes with Angela to confront her fathers partner.

The desire that stirs within Angela and Rafe has to be tamped down because of what they have to face together, Although neither cares to admit that they are beginning to care a great deal for each other.

Ms. Mason begins this new trilogy with wonderful characters: a man who will not back down from adversity and a woman who will be the master of her own fate. This combination makes for steamy romance and excellent dialogue. The cast of characters who helps round out this story only adds to the exciting plot. Rafe is a man who wants nothing more than to be his Angels hero. I cant wait to meet the other Gentry brothers. SENSUAL (Apr., 390 pp., $5.99)
