OVER THE EDGE
In this very timely and meaningful book, Collins draws from her real-life experience with Lyme disease to create a frightening and all-too-real scenario. At times the plot becomes a bit complicated with medical details, but this does not detract from the suspense.
Dr. Brock McNeil is a leading authority on Lyme disease, but he does not believe that it can be a chronic disease. One man, determined to make Brock believe, infects Janessa McNeil with the disease by planting infected ticks on her. As she gets sicker, the man threatens to infect their daughter. But Brock doesn’t even believe Janessa has Lyme disease, much less that she has a stalker. (B&H, May, 352 pp., $14.99)
