PAGING DR. HOT
Genre: Contemporary Romance, General Contemporary Romance
This is a great beach book, very upbeat and a light read. There are several scenes written from the perspective of a sarcastic dachshund and they steal the show. This, and the strange situations Francesca lands in, makes Paging Dr. Hot quirky and funny. The romance moves a bit quickly but is made up for with humor.
Francesca has become a hypochondriac since her mother’s heart attack. She decides the only way to get her life back is to have a doctor on call all the time — by marrying one. As a reporter, she has the opportunity to meet lots of eligible doctors. But the one she can’t get out of her head is her thrill-seeking neighbor, Dr. Harrison Taylor. The problem is, a veterinarian is not quite what she had in mind. With her dachshund already in love with the handsome doc, is Francesca next? (SAMHAIN, Aug., 272 pp., $15.00)
