Book Review

Genre: Young Adult, Historical

RT Rating

This entertaining tale for fans of historicals and spy novels has intrigue, romance and murder. The plot is fast-paced, if at times predictable, with a dash of sweet romance. Though some of the colloquialisms are questionable, and the ending is not quite a surprise, the book is still worth the read.

After being forced from her uncle’s home, Peggy Fitzroy lands in the unenviable position of a spy in the court of King George I, impersonating the recently departed Lady Francesca. It is only when Peggy discovers that her predecessor was murdered — and that she may be next — that she realizes the stakes of the game she plays.
