Jakarta Raven is the free spirit of her family. When her sister told her she could pack all of her possessions in a duffel bag that sounded just fine to Jakarta. She didn't count on meeting and falling for prosecutor Zane Reeves.

Zane regretted that he met Jakarta while he was prosecuting her older sister. When that incident was over they maintained contact with one another, and their relationship takes a turn for the serious just as Zane is approached about representing Louisiana in the Senate. Jakarta goes so far as to move from Detroit to Louisiana to assist, and soon they must deal with a scandal from her past threatening his political aspirations.

The development of Jakarta and Zane's relationship is highly enjoyable as are their interactions with other characters. (Oct., 249 pp., $6.99)
