This is the first book in Hilton’s Amish of Seymour series. The strong characters and fast pace keep the reader engaged and rooting for Becky and Jacob. The unorthodox topic of an out-of-wedlock pregnancy is handled tactfully.
Jacob Miller’s dad is send- ing him to stay with their cousin in Missouri. Jacob does not realize he is there as part of an exchange program to bring new blood to the community. Jacob plans to return home in the summer to wed Susie, who wants to take a break from their courtship. Becky Troyer is sure that no man will want her, as she had a child out of wedlock. Jacob is determined to find her a beau. They are not sure how to proceed when they realize they are drawn to each other … especially when Susie re-enters the picture.
