PEACH COBBLER MURDER
by Joanne Fluke

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

Bakery owner Hannah Swensen has a problem. Her customers have deserted her establishment for the new Magnolia Blossom Bakery across the street, and she fears she may lose her business.

As if that's not bad enough, Mike, one of the two men she dates, seems to be getting very close to flirtatious Shawna Lee, one of the new bakery's co-owners. One night, Hannah notices that her
competitor's lights are on late and goes across the street to check things out. Not only does she discover Shawna Lee's dead body, Hannah becomes a suspect as well. On the bright side, Hannah's bakery is suddenly back in business. Now all she has to do is clear her name and find the real killer.

It's hard to sympathize with Hannah
for being upset about Mike and Shawna Lee's possible romantic involvement when she's dating two men herself. But with 14 recipes, an entertaining cat and a couple of twists, you have a mostly enjoyable read. (Mar., 304 pp., $22.00)
