In Peak Performance (4), Helen Brenna focuses on the inner fears of Rachel Murphy and Payton Reese. Rachel, part of a pit crew, was born into a NASCAR racing family. She shies away from interviews, even when handsome ex-mountain climber turned sportscaster Payton hounds her for one to round off his documentary on racing families. But after getting to know the man more, she sees he's honest--and quickly becoming the man of her dreams. But dreams of becoming crew chief could be lost if she gives him her heart. The conflict is great, and the illness of Rachel's cousin proves to be as dangerous as the sport of racing.
