The Perfect Love Song has surprisingly little to do with love songs, and more to do with choices in life and relationships. The story is sweet if unpredictable, and the characters fail to make you sympathetic toward them. Despite its narrative voice, which is distracting, it is a pleasant read to pass an evening on and a quick read, if just a tad too precious.

Jimmy Sullivan penned a love song for his girl, and now finds himself on tour with the great names in country music. Unfortunately, the bright lights, the fans and the fame are turning his head away from what is important. When he chooses to spend Christmas Eve at Radio City Music Hall instead of at his brother’s side as best man at his wedding, he risks losing it all — family, love and inspiration.
