THE PERFECT SCORE
A woman who realizes her life lacks sexual excitement finds it with a man who at first seems to be the geek next door in The Perfect Score (4), by Julie Kenner. Mattie Brown is infuriated when she scores 18 percent on an Internet slut test. She is determined to ace the test and sets her sights on a hunky male model for a fast fling. Computer gamer Mike Peterson, meanwhile, would love to help her up her percentage. While this plot device is well used, humor and the some nice touches bounce this story out of the ordinary. Kenner includes a conversation between Mattie and her mother that includes translations of what each really means, the descriptions of a shopping expedition through a sex store and a recipe for penis pasta salad.
