Elena Jones-Phillips comes from a family of witches who have been the target of another family that believes they should be dead for a few hundred years. When the vendetta is taken up again and her daughter is kidnapped by a killer, Elena turns to Joseph Dolce, her hated grandmother's right-hand man, for help. Although she's always been attracted to Joe, Elena must get over her distrust of him if they are to be in time to save her daughter. Persecuted (3), by Lisa Childs, is a solid book. Childs' depiction of Elena as a frightened mother seems very accurate. The plot, however, seems a bit predictable.
