Wealthy rancher Ryan Kendrick is thoroughly ticked off over a problem with his order at the local mercantile. Ready to make his displeasure known, Ryan is certainly not expecting to find the girl of his dreams working behind the counter.

Bethany Coulter finds Ryan attractive and enjoys their flirtatious banter. However, she never expects Ryan to ask her out, especially after he discovers that she is a paraplegic.

At first Ryan is disconcerted to find that Bethany is in a wheelchair, but the attraction is so strong that he presses the date anyway. Having been emotionally burned in the past, Bethany is wary of letting her emotions get involved. Ryan is a renowned bachelor, so she dares not believe they can ever be anything other than good friends. Ryan is not about to let anything stand in the way of his burgeoning relationship with Bethany, but the obstacles before them are both physical and emotional. Can love and deep friendship overcome the odds?

With her usual flair, author Catherine Anderson expertly combines the drama of romance and emotion to build a truly wonderful read. (Jul., 432 pp., $6.99)
