PHOEBE’S GROOM (4) by Deb Kastner: Pastry chef Phoebe Yates accepts an invitation to come work in a diner in the small Texas town of Serendipity. There she meets opposition from the diner’s cook and, consequently, the owner’s nephew, Chance Hawkins. Chance is still recovering from the death of his wife four years ago. Phoebe is tempted to leave, especially when she finds she is expected to stay in Chance’s home along with his aunt and 13-year-old daughter. Yet apparently God wants her there. An entertaining story of changing plans, moving forward and learning to lean on God.
