After Zoe McInnes, the head of a women's shelter, kills her abusive husband and her ex-father-in-law has a stroke, she meets attorney Gideon Tate, her husband's half-brother, who comes to town to care for his ailing father. Gideon, convinced at first that Zoe murdered his brother rather than killing him in self-defense, soon comes to believe she's telling the truth -- that his brother and father were both abusers. Margaret Watson's A Place Called Home (3) is an entertaining tale about finding love where one would never expect it. Zoe comes across as a character with depth, but Gideon could have used more development.
