There’s no sizzle in this disconnected story of opposites attracting. Readers are going to be disappointed if they are looking for more than just a bit of bondage to break up the evening.

Buttoned-down Althea Grant and her Charleston art gallery are both suffering from a surplus of watered-down appearances and a bad economy — until bad boy sculptor Steel rides his motorcycle in, looking for studio space. She welcomes his rent check, but Steel’s raw, sexual pieces don’t belong in her white-bread gallery. Steel sets his sights not only on his art but also on seducing the Southern belle into modeling for him. Tempted and tantalized, Althea soon realizes that Steel has brought out a secret desire she never knew existed. (CARINAPRESS.COM, dl $2.99)
