The Chandler brothers are back! This time it's Rick's turn to face his mother's penchant for matchmaking. But, as Rick's been scorned once before, he will not allow this to happen without a fight.
His mind is made up, until Kendall Sutton breezes into town wearing a bridal gown and pink hair. Rick is entranced from the moment he meets her, but as Kendall's been shuffled around all her life, all she plans on doing is getting her aunt Crystal's estate in order and moving on.
Soon, Rick and Kendall cut a deal. She'll pretend to be his girlfriend if he'll help her get Crystal's house ready to sell. Neither one wants the relationship to be for keeps, yet life has a way of changing the rules.
As much as I enjoyed Roman's story in Phillip's The Bachelor, this one played to my affections even more. Rick and Kendall were terrific, down-to-earth characters and of course, nothing beats the Chandlers' matriarch! I eagerly await Chase's story. (Jan., 368 pp., $5.99)
