Playing for Keeps (4), by Yahrah St. John, has all the requirements for a good story, including a great New York location. It's entertaining and readers will care about the characters. Art buyer Avery Roberts finds out by accident at age 33 that she's adopted. Her initial reaction is anger at her parents for not telling her, which adds strain to an already tenuous relationship with her mother. World-renowned photographer Quentin Davis is taking a break and reconnecting with his "family" of three best friends from the same foster home. He takes a dare from his friends that he can "melt" ice princess Avery and ends up falling in love. When outside forces collaborate to keep them apart, can they must overcome their "historical" and present-day issues to remain together?
