In this fascinating story, wonderful immortals from an alternate dimension are sent to protect dreamers in the mortal world. The hero and his friends are easy to like, and the heroine is strong and intelligent. The secondary characters are a good addition, and there's lots of sex, but also an intricate and imaginative plot, with plenty of action and even a nice touch of humor.

Dream Guardian warrior
Aidan Cross protects mortals from the Nightmares, who feed on fear and distress. Aidan defends the women he's sworn to protect by taking on the appearance of their fantasy lover and giving them erotic dreams. But when he's sent to protect Lyssa Bates, she
sees him as he truly is. And she wants all of him.

Unwillingly attracted to her, Aidan fears she may be the Key, the one he and his elite warriors have been searching for -- to destroy. Now, he must decide if he believes the myths perpetuated by the elders, or if he should follow his heart. (Avon Red, May, 304 pp., $13.95)
