Maggie Grady left New York after she was framed for taking three million dollars from the bank where she worked. Running to her hometown of Durham, N.C., she ends up helping out her Aunt Clara at her shop, Pie in the Sky. One day, her former boss shows up claiming that he is there to clear her name, as he knows the identity of the real thief. That night Maggie goes to throw out the trash and finds her ex-boss’ body. She’s hounded by reporters and tries to ignore them, but one, Ryan Summerour of The Durham Weekly, gets in. Aunt Clara decides that Ryan is a great catch for Maggie and pushes the two together. The unlikely duo teams up to find out who wanted her ex-boss dead. Could it be the real thief, or is it the real estate developer hassling her aunt to sell the pie shop?
