Powerful Moves bills itself as an erotic fantasy, but doesn’t offer much more than clichéd fantasy tropes all smashed together in one big mess. The novel also suffers from issues with tone; it gravitates between scenes of romance to violence very quickly and without warning. The characters’ "magic" sex powers will strike the reader as more humorous than erotic, and the plot points between the sex scenes drag and are difficult to plow through.

When Elena Cabot is on her evening jog, the last thing she expects to find is a man crash-landed in an oak tree. Tavius Zolan has pursued a fugitive dark elf through a portal from his world and ended up on Earth. With elves, werewolves and vampires on the hunt for a weapon of mass destruction, Elena and Tavius need to join forces to avert a world crisis — that is if they can keep their hands off each other long enough to save the planet.
