THE PREACHER’S BRIDE (4) by Laurie Kingery: Faith Bennett doesn’t believe in God anymore. She lost her faith when her little brother died, something she keeps secret. Drawn to Gil Chadwick, son of Simpson’s Creek’s pastor and a minister in his own right, Faith doesn’t feel she can possibly be the right woman for him, even though they share a mutual attraction. Yet when Pastor Chadwick suffers a stroke, Faith steps in to help care for him while Gil assumes his pastoral duties. Many readers will empathize with the heroine’s struggle with her faith and belief in God in this fifth entry in the Brides of Simpson’s Creek series. Plus, the appearance of characters from former stories give this one a delightful sense of familiarity.
