PRINCE OF FOOLS
Lawrence opens a new page in the Broken Empire universe while still revisiting people, places and worlds. This fantastical and ill-fated bloody journey with a necromantic edge is rendered beautifully by his dramatic, nightmarish prose and portrayed impeccably by his new stable of characters. Lawrence’s worldbuilding is first rate and his reign of the genre absolute.
Cowardly rake Prince Jalan Kendeth has narrowly escaped death at the hands of the Red Queen’s sorceress, and inadvertently becomes spellbound to an embattled Norse warrior. Snorri ver Snagson’s plans for revenge and rescuing his family have taken an unintended turn when he’s magically entangled with a partying prince. As they travel north through the empire seeking to break their bewitchment, they realize they may not survive separation, as these unlikely allies have become pawns in an unwanted war.
