Radio psychologist Kate Stonewall is widowed when her husband chokes to death on a peanut during the Superbowl. Left to raise her two young children, Amanda and Robbie, Kate is doing the best she can.

Kate is not to thrilled when sports host Jeff Hardin moves in next door. The two of them dont get off to a good start, but Robbie becomes a tentative bridge between them.

Kate stirs the pot even more when she gives Jeffs cheerleader girlfriend, Bambi Hooterman, a copy of her latest book, The Frog with the Glass Slipper, in an attempt to expand Bambis horizons.

The clashes are too heated not to be based on deeper emotions, but considering the philosophical divide between them, this relationship seems doomed from the start.

Sheila Rabe pulls out all the stops with this new tale of opposites attracting. All the emotions are there and make for terrific reading! (Aug., 352 pp., $6.99)
