PRIVATE LIVES (2) by Gwynne Forster: Sometimes warm and romantic, other times frustrating because of the erratic and irrational behavior of the hero and heroine, Forster's story is somewhat difficult to read. Allison Sawyer has moved all around with her 5-year-old son, Dudley, to make sure her much older, powerful ex-husband cannot find them. He's threatened to take Dudley out of the country, even though Allison has sole custody of the child. A cookbook author, Allison is home-schooling him when she meets private investigator/lawyer Brock Lightner, who's also writing a book and has retreated to his cabin in the Adirondack Mountains to complete it. He is totally taken with Allison and her son and goes to great lengths to win Allison's trust.
