Readers will relish a glimpse into the mind of a woman who voluntarily signs up for a reality show in an effort to launch a new chapter of her life. The constant surprises will keep you on your toes and force you to turn page after page. Though this is a love story, other plotlines balance it out extremely well. However, the ending is a bit rushed.

Sasha has always lived under her parents' thumb, but dreaming of owning her own spa resort, she takes a chance and applies for a reality show, Heartbreak Hotel, where the grand prize is her own hotel.

Taping in Antigua for two weeks, Sasha has a whirlwind romance with Mitchell, whom she later discovers is one of her competitors on the show. In the end, the two must decide what's more important: a chance at a successful career or a successful relationship. (KIMANI/ARABESQUE, Oct., 304 pp., $6.99)
