Since leaving Alaska seven years ago, Dr. Ben Kerrigan has matured considerably. But he's soon faced with his past. Waitress Heather Kendall is now a widow with two girls -- and reconnecting with her is unexpected. As is learning her eldest daughter is his! Initially angry, Ben adjusts, but Heather's afraid to believe they have a future. Marie Ferrarella revisits The Alaskans with The Prodigal M.D. Returns (3). Probably a must for fans of the series, the story lacks the emotion resonance and power of the author's other work.
