THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING
by Melinda Wells

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

At first glance, this third book in the Della Cooks mystery series appears to be light and fluffy. It would certainly appeal to a foodie who wants to try some of the tasty-sounding recipes that are included. But, on closer inspection, Wells' story has a lot of depth. Della is one smart cookie, and there's a good mystery for her to unravel.

Della Carmichael, the popular host of the cable cooking show, is looking forward to judging a celebrity cook-off for charity. The only problem is that she'll be working alongside Keith Ingram, who's dating Della's unofficial daughter, Eileen. An unscrupulous man, Keith is rumored to be having an affair with another woman. When he's murdered at the cook-off, suspects abound, including Della. Before she knows it, Della is up to her neck trying to protect Eileen, shooting her television show and looking for a killer.
