Sitting in a seedy bar in Peru, feeling dead inside, Logan Burke spies a beautiful woman and everything leaps to life. Dara Adams, the secret Roma princess, tells him she's an archeologist who needs a guide to Quillacocha, the ancient Inca lands. The truth is she hopes to find a legendary sacred dagger. Logan initially refuses but relents when he realizes how determined Dara is. When it becomes clear that someone is after her, Logan demands to know the truth. Neither has any idea what they're really getting into. Gail Barrett's To Protect a Princess (4.5) is filled with nonstop action and adventure, and there's a terrific twosome at the center of it all.
The ending has a twist that will leave readers anticipating the next story in the Crusaders series.
